Granollers is today the major business centre in the eastern Vallès region. According to the Spanish Economic Annual Report published by the savings bank, La Caixa, there are 1,569 retail premises occupying a total space of 191,561 m2 and 406 wholesalers. The business community of Granollers currently plays a major role in the life of the city where it has become an important force for promoting social, cultural and sporting activities.

02/05/06 The Forum for Trade and Tourism

The Forum for Trade and Tourism was set up on 22 October 2002 at a full plenary session of the municipal council. It was created as a representative organ for public and private interests in the field of trade and commerce. Its work is to promote a management system to guarantee an adequate level of cooperation and coordination between the various private and public parties involved and the policies they carry out.

04/07/06 The Granollers Centre Traders Association

The Granollers Centre (or Gran Centre) Traders, Business and Professional Services Association was founded in 1995, the result of an agreement between small and medium-sized businesses, prepared to make a stand from the city centre against the threat posed by large scale shopping centres.

07/06/06 The north Granollers Traders Association

The north Granollers Traders Association, Granollers Comerç de Dalt, is a new association for traders located in the northern part of the city. Its aim is to promote greater cooperation between businesses and encourage the development of high quality commercial activities. The new association, which grew out of the old Joan Prim Centre Traders Association, is currently based in Girona Street, Joan Prim Street and the Ponent district.
